(players that have participated in the WGP before, a lot has changed this year - read on)

Introduction

The NA WS WGP is a continent-spanning tournament season, the winner of which represents the entire region at the Worlds in Japan!

Players from all over compete in Shop Qualifiers in their area. Top players from there (and attendees of the Last Chance Qualifier) qualify for the National Event in Rochester, NY to compete for glory! Winner for WS (and 2nd place!) receive a trip to Japan - airfare and hotel accomodations - for their Worlds run!

Prizing:
A special Overseas PR is available for each attending player signed in on Bushi Navi that attends the event.
First place player will also receive a playmat.
Images coming soon. (if Bushiroad changes prizing, we are not responsible for providing the PRs / playmat currently in discussion)

For Players:
The WGP will be using Bushi Navi this year. To enter, you are required to make a Bushi Navi account on the Global (english) Bushi Navi app / website.

Website link: https://www.en.bushi-navi.com/
App information: search "bushi navi global" in your preferred app store

Translations are not required. Full knowledge of your cards' abilities is required.
A Bushi Navi decklist on the Global server is required.

Players may play in events if they already have an invitation.

Players that receive invites MUST respond within 72 hours to a Google Form given by the organizer to confirm their information and attendance. If they do not receive the form they should contact HotC to get the form completed. Failure to do so and complete the form within one week may forfeit the invitation.

Update: The Shop Qualifiers are below! Sign up on Bushi Navi, put your decklist on Bushi Navi, and participate in the events! Read these rules first, though!

Player Rules
You will have to confirm to your Shop Qualifier that you have read these rules. If you end up not following them (for example, not responding to an HotC email or text to confirm your invite), you could lose your invite, and show up to Nationals without a spot. Read these, it's important.

Also: we don't know when the Navi tourneys will go up. Keep checking. Stores don't know, we don't know. If for some reason it never goes up, contact that store to sign up in an alternate way.

1: You have to have a Bushi Navi account on the Global Bushi Navi app to participate, and must either have access to it at the event, or be registered to the event and know your Bushi Navi ID (My Profile > Bushi Navi ID). Don't wait until you get to the qualifier to make one.

2: Your decklist has to be registered as well, and you must supply the deck ID when entering the event. Don't wait until you get to the qualifier to make one. Cards are put in decklist by ID: Alternate art rarities with different IDs are different cards, and if your deck does not match you will fail deck check. You must pass a deck check to receive a spot. Also, check the sides and backs of your sleeves for markings that make cards identifiable. If they identify cards that can be considered advantageous to you in any way, you will fail deck check.

3: If you win a qualifying spot, the TO will give you a link to a form to fill out. Fill this out immediately. If you don't get a link, let us know via email ASAP. If you don't fill it out, and don't get a hold of us via email, you will lose your invite. If you don't get a link, email us at with the subject as "contacting for 2025 WGP invite". Making this contact is required.

4: Yes, people with invites already can still play. Yes, you have to tell the TO if you already have an invite or you might lose it if you play somewhere else. Yes, invites pass down if the people who win invites already have one. No, you can't throw games if you have an invite to mess with the standings, that's standings manipulation and you will lose your invite for it. Either play your best or don't play.

5: The qualifier may have an entry fee. We tell shops that they should let us know if their entry fee is over $10 because it might have an effect on their approval. We will attempt to update pricing info on this page, but things change and this site may not be up to date, check with the stores themselves. For details on cost, check the Bushi Navi listing and contact the location.

Organizer note for 2025:
There is now a minimum size limit. Events require 8 players minimum to run.

Please promote and prepare your playerbase accordingly. If it fails to run, invitations and/or PRs may not be available to that event.

Applications are closed.

Rules:
35 min rounds, Swiss to 1 or less undefeated. Physical translations slips are NOT needed. Staff must have access to HotC translations and general translation applications to resolve issues. Top 2 (and in some cases 4) players that do not already have invitations receive invitations to this years WGP Nationals.

Time over is a Double Game Loss. There are no "extra turns" or post-time-over conceding. In addition, players with Slow Play Losses are ranked below other players with the same Wins+Byes ranking.

Omitting translation of a card in a public zone when asked if it is relevant can be considered cheating, and players must explain their cards when asked, and all possible public changes must be explained when asked for a number. (Don't be sneaky with wordings.) Failure to uphold a modicum of civility and fairness can be penalized. (Don't be impolite.)

players may bring references for translations for their own benefit, but excessive reference time can be construed as Slow Play - know your cards in advance.

Tournament entry is not limited to those without invites. All players may enter. Should a player with an invitation rank highly enough to be in the top, they are skipped over for the invitation and it "passes down" to the next player without an invitation.

Organizer Information:
If using Navi, sign in each player as they arrive. Collect their name, Deck ID, and ask if they already have an invite. If not using Navi, collect their name, Bushi Navi ID, Deck ID, and if they have an invite.

Take a photo of the start of Round 1.

Run the tournament according to Bushiroad Floor Rules. If you have a ruling question, HotC may have someone available to help via Discord, phone, or email. Due to the large number of events this year, and the wide range of times, however, it is not guaranteed. Check in early to get the best chance.

Ending Navi standings do not show all tiebreakers. If important players are tied (say tied for a spot that gets an invite but not the spot beneath), the next tiebreaker is "if they played each other before, whoever won gets the spot", and if that doesn't work, playoff a round with just them. If the tied group is 3 for more, randomize the order.

Once the rounds are completed, deck check the players that are in line to receive an invite. If a player fails the deck check (cards do not match IDs in Navi list / deck is marked in a way advantageous to the player), remove them from the standings and move to the next one.

Once you have the players who are receiving invites confirmed, collect their phone number, email, and Discord if they have one, and also take a photo of them. Do not dismiss them yet: open the form link provided to you via email for end-of-event reporting, and fill it out. Within that form is the link for players to fill out their entry form. Give it to those players that won invites, and tell them to fill it out ASAP, preferably within 24 hours. After they have this info, and you've confirmed their info and filled out the form for the event, everyone is good to go.

We may ask you for the photos of your Round 1 and/or your invited players via email.

If your PR material does not arrive in time for your event, please maintain contact with your players so they can return to pick up their PR material, or have it mailed to them at your or their (minimal) expense at your choice. If a playmat is for first place, and they cannot return to your location to pick it up, make arrangements to ship it to them.

If a player tells you their opponent is playing slow, watch them. If they are, then warn them for Slow Play. This means if they go to time, only that player loses.

If using Navi, you have to keep track of Slow Play Losses on a separate piece of paper. use it as the second tiebreaker, after Wins+Byes, and more Slow Play Losses is weaker than less. For example, if this example below was what your Navi ranking page looked like, if Ben had 2 Slow Play Losses, and Chippy and Edwin each had 1, the final standings would be Adam, Dan, Chippy, Edwin, Ben, Frank.
RankUser NameWinsOpp%Opp2%
1Adam (B001)40.5560.592
2Ben (B002)30.5550.692
3Chippy (B002)30.5540.492
4Dan (B003)30.5530.292
5Edwin (B004)30.4670.592
5Frank (B008)20.6670.592

Player Registration:

Player Registration will open approximately Sept 10 on Bushi Navi. Please have a Bushi Navi account prepared. If you don't see the location listed, see the Player Rules. UPDATE: Due to some Bushi Navi issues, player registrations for each location will open as evemts are made available.
